Cyprus Cafe Restaurant, London, 1890

£20.00

This charming little card was used to advertise the Cyprus Cafe and Restaurant in London's High Holborn in 1890. This was an era when ladies were often expected to dine separately from the gentlemen, so there were two types of dining rooms.
The menu was plain but extensive. There was an open fire for grilled meats and fish as the proprietors obviously worked very hard. The restaurant was open seven days a week, from early morning until well after midnight.
