These cards feature designs from a 1940s menu from Lasserre in Paris, featuring cherubs-as-chefs getting into all sorts of mischief.
Packs of six contain one of each card design. Packs of 12 contain two of each design.
The cards are 12x12cm, printed on premium recycled card, and are blank inside. Each pack includes cards and envelopes.

Number 17 Avenue Victor-Emmanuel III (renamed Avenue Franklin Delano Roosevelt in 1945) was a run-down bistro until René Lasserre took it over and, in 1942, opened his eponymous restaurant. During WW2, he and the restaurant staff protected resistance fighters at the same time as its reputation for fine dining spread. In 1948 he founded his Club de la Casserole, whose dinners became a must for Parisian celebrities. Dali, Dietrich, Hepburn, Malraux and Chagall, were all regulars.
This delightful menu cover celebrates the cherubs of the kitchen – the hard-working kitchen staff in every restaurant that customers never see. The whimsical artwork was created by “E Naudy”, probably a pseudonym for artist Alfred Renaudin (1866 to 1944) who was well-known for landscape paintings.
