The Brass Rail, New York, 1938

£20.00

The Brass Rail covered an entire city block in midtown Manhattan and spanned five floors. There was a restaurant where huge sides of meat were roasted on open fires, a café with a full orchestra playing every night, and several bars. This 1938 drinks menu in art deco style features an extraordinary creature that is half woman and half devil, draining the contents of a cocktail glass. Frank Sinatra used to meet Jimmy Van Heusen, his favorite songwriter, for drinks at The Brass Rail.
