The Clock, Home of Chubby, the Champ, California 1953
The Clock Broiler created "Chubby the Champ" as its 'mascot burger' in 1941 at its Lynwood location. Car hops took orders and delivered food to cars dressed in satin marching band uniforms. By the 1950s The Clock had expanded to over a dozen locations.
